Meg
Meg is a B/W rough coated 2 year old female. Meg is an "opps" puppy in two ways, her litter was an "opps", and me taking her home was an "opps". I met Meg at the New York Sheep and Wool Festival in October 2003. She was 10 weeks old and cute as a button. Needless to say, between that face and her sweet personality, I couldn't not take her home.
Meg is sometimes more of a holy terror than that sweet little puppy now. She is still a sweet, cuddly girl, who loves nothing more than to smother you in kisses. However, she is very neurotic and obessive.
Both Millie and Meg had a vaccine reaction a year ago that had them down and out for several months. Millie seems to have recovered with only minor side affects, but Meg has lost all confidence on sheep, and just can't take the pressure of training. She still gets to play on the sheep every now and then for fun, but I highly doubt she'll ever be able to become a real working dog. But that's OK, we still love her. :-)
Meg is a real goof ball, and really isn't serious about anything in life. :-) She loves racing around outside at top speed, and man, can she run!

Emma
Emma is a 2 1/2 year old tri colored Corgi. Emma arrived at our house Valentines day 2004 at 8 months old, after having been through two homes - with only the second a good home - and living in a crate with another Corgi for 3 months, not to mention originally coming from a puppy mill. Despite having to leave her second home because of fighting with the families other Corgi, Emma fit in with our group wonderfully. Having to work so hard to keep up with the BC's keeps her trim. :-)
Emma is a very sweet girl, with a mind of her own like most Corgi's. She thinks she is my personal body guard, and takes her job quite seriously.
Even though Emma came from a puppy mill, she does have quite a bit of herding instinct. She enjoys going out and "playing with the sheepies" every now and then also.

Poppy
Poppy is a 10 month old Great Pyrenees. She is a Livestock Guardian Dog, meaning she lives outside with the sheep as their protector.
Poppy is a wonderfully sweet and loving girl with everybody, having almost never met a stranger. She has an almost contagious love for life - she is over the top, blissfully, and sometimes annoyingly, happy. :-) Poppy and I have a very special relationship. I have never met a dog quite like her, and doubt I'll ever meet another, she is a very special girl.
Poppy is very serious about her job, and does an excellent job despite being only a puppy. |
Cookie
Cookie is a 10 year old All American Mutt Dog. We adopted her 6 years ago from All Breed Rescue.
Cookie is mostly just a lazy old girl, enjoying her last several years of retirement in a good home. She used to be quite an excellent rat hunter, and while she still likes to go rat hunting every now and then, she isn't the dog she used to be.
Cookie's other 3 loves in life are: eating, sleeping, and going for short walks.
